The Natalee Show

Tonight I watched with disgust more evidence of the tactlessness of the modern media as Headline News tried to milk the Natalee Holloway Aruba disappearance case for an hour of prime time entertainment. There was really next to nothing to say, except that they arrested the jackasses again, and it was amazing to watch them try to make a whole show around that. Let's bring on the victim's father. How do you do, sir? We feel your pain. By the way, how would you respond to the rumors that your (vanished and presumed dead) daughter is still alive and working as a sex slave? Don't give it much credence? Thank you, sir. Good luck with your new book about the case. I'm sure it will be a best seller. Right next to Paris Hilton's Confessions of an Heiress.

Traveling

I took six airplaine flights on Delta in four days, traveling from Tennessee to Atlanta to LAX to Atlanta to MIA to Atlanta to Tennessee. I got to know the Atlanta airport very well--a city unto itself. A tremendous variety of snack food served by Delta. Cheese and crackers or peanuts or cookies on each flight. Reclining airplane seats are largely a thing of the past. Two dollar donation requested for breast cancer to get pink lemonade. Six smooth landings. No terrorists.
